What to expect

  • How do I get started? +

Call the office at 763-497-0733 to speak with a trained staff member who will briefly learn about the issue you want to work on. You may also send us a message through our contact page and a clinician will call you as soon as possible. Once the general concern and your preferences are determined, a therapist will be assigned to you based on your unique needs. Please feel free to read the clinician’s bios if you would like to request a specific therapist.
  • What paperwork is required? +

Once an appointment is set, we will enter you into our appointment scheduling system and send you a one-time use link to your registration paperwork at the email address you provided during the intake process. Once you click the link and begin to fill out the paperwork, you must complete all the forms for it to save. If you left the process and need a new link sent, please let us know right away and we will send out another link. The registration forms vary slightly depending on whether the client is an adult or a minor and whether you are coming in for individual, couples, family or group counseling.
  • What if I have questions about a registration form? +

If you have any questions, just give us a call and we will answer any question you have. In addition, each therapist will go over in detail the registration paperwork you have signed during the informed consent process. Please feel free to ask questions during this process.
  • What is the first session like? +

When you arrive at the office, please have a seat in the waiting room and enjoy some refreshments. Your therapist will come get you when your appointment begins and bring you back to their office. During this first hour-long session, your therapist will introduce themselves, go over the registration paperwork and get a copy of your Driver's License and Insurance card, state their qualifications, go over confidentiality and privacy policies during the informed consent process, and then begin the process of getting to know your unique needs and goals. If at any time you do not feel that the therapist is a match to your needs, please let your therapist know. At the end of the appointment, your therapist will collect the session fee or co-pay and schedule a follow-up appointment. The diagnostic assessment and treatment plan is reviewed with you during the follow-up appointment. Once accepted, we dive into working on the goals you set.
  • What if I do not have access to a computer or did not receive the link to the registration paperwork? +

If you are unable to complete the registration paperwork before your first session, please let us know and plan on arriving 30-45 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. A staff member will greet you and hand you a tablet to complete the registration process.

Billing and Insurance

  • Do you accept my insurance? +

We do accept insurance. While benefits vary greatly with each policy, most policies do cover mental health visits with licensed providers. Be sure to check with your insurance provider to verify coverage. Your portion of the cost will be determined by your policy. Some policies require a co-pay, some insurances require you to satisfy a deductible before benefits are applied.
  • Do I have to use insurance? +

No. You may choose to pay out of pocket. We do offer a sliding fee scale based on your annual income. This method of payment can be beneficial if you do not want a mental health diagnosis on your health record.
  • What if I have a financial hardship? +

Please let us know if you have a financial hardship. Many options are available to you including payment plans, sliding fee scale, and the option to see an intern at a reduced rate.
  • What payment methods are accepted? +

You may pay with cash, check, or credit card. Mental health visits can be paid with your HSA/FSA account as well.
  • What if I have a question about my bill? +

Any billing questions can be answered by our business office at 763-497-0733 X2 or by sending a message on the contact us page.
